Inside SIPA: October 2009

The latest edition of the Inside SIPA newsletter is now available online. October’s issue highlights John Kluge’s (CC ’37) $30 million gift to SIPA to build the financial aid endowment, and Professor Stephen Sestanovich’s election to the Board of Directors of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). Also, read a detailed account of the 41-day peace process following post-election violence in Kenya in December 2007, written by Elisabeth Lindenmayer, director of SIPA’s UN Studies Program, and Josie Lianna Kaye, assistant director of the Center for International Conflict Resolution.
On the alumni front, Ashley Cotton (EMPA ‘09) was named to City Hall magazine’s “Rising Stars: 40 Under 40″ list, while Joshua Levine (MIA ‘00, IF ‘99) was named one of Institutional Investor News‘ 2009 Rising Stars of Hedge Funds.
