Blogging the Economy
By Courtney Doggart
MIA 2009
In the void caused by our merry writers buckling down for exams, I’m going to do what blogs do best–link to other blogs.
Topic of the day: The Role of New Technology in the Economic Crisis…. I don’t know of anyone tweeting at Lehman, though it probably did happen. But blogging, as we at TMP have long advocated, is an immediate tool with long reach. So for those of you interested in what some of the brightest minds are saying about the state of our economic system, here are some links. (Note to first-years: this is a good way to keep up on things learned in 4600 and Conceptual Foundations.)
Dani Rodrik, Tyler Cowen, Greg Mankiw (though I’m about to demote him on my own Google Reader for some egregious number- and word-skewing), Economist’s View, Paul Krugman, and, via this Boston Globe article that gave me the idea for this brief interlude in the first place, Calculated Risk.
Questions to readers: Whom from the economics world would you like to see blogging? And do you have suggestions for other econ/finance blogs?
Of course, why would you read when you just watch the talking heads on TV? Here’s one thought…

just right. thank you!
